Alceste Against Society

A fair note about my true intentions,
I do not wish to discuss meditations
Of less than perfect people who take pride
In the insufferable complements of those who have lied
About the true state of that person for the sake of society,
Believing it would be in ruin for eternity
If even one person should be made aware
Of one of their million flaws beyond the hopes of repair.
I'd like to warn those weak of self confidence
I will not refrain from calling you pretentious,
Terrible, hypocritical, or wicked in demeanor.
I will correct you of your imperfect nature,
I will give you the correct visions of morality,
And most importantly be correct in all totality.

To Alceste

Dear Alcesteagainstsociety,

I just want to know why
You’re addicted to so much misanthropy?
“You’re most opinionated and conceited”
What can I do to make you more improved
In the way of our society and sense.
“Keep your promise now: dont shrink
From telling me sincerely what you think.”

The fact that you fail to see
The reasons why I follow Misanthropy
Shows that you don’t understand
The many terrible flaws of man.
Because of this irrational demeanor
Trying to explain my reasons would result in failure,
And so I will leave you to ponder my strangeness
Until you open your mind to the world of Alceste
